Body Cameras for Sydney Parking Wardens to Reduce Abuse from Motorists

In a move to reduce incidents of verbal abuse and physical assault, parking rangers working in Sydney will wear body cameras.

It's hoped that the cameras will act as a deterant as well as a means of gathering footage that can be used in court in the event of a prosecution.

Pilot trials with staff in Burwood and Ryde councils showed impressive results with a 95 percent reduction in violent attacks on their parking rangers who were also suffering frequent incidents of verbal and physical abuse from motorists.
