Body Cameras to Help Tackle Abuse on NSW TrainLink

NSW TrainLink staff will be among the first public transport employees in Australia to wear personal safety cameras, which have the ability to record antisocial and dangerous behaviour.

The cameras are to be trialled on selected NSW TrainLink services in a bid to to help improve safety on regional trains.

Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Andrew Constance said TrainLink had examined the techniques and technologies available to support staff.

It is hoped that the cameras will reduce incidents of verbal and physical abuse and also provide evidence for potential police prosecution.
