Road Workers in Bucks Verbally Abused Daily

Maintenance workers and road crews carrying out summer improvements to the County's roads, experience physical assault and verbal abuse on a daily basis, according to Transport for Buckinghamshire.

Council bosses say workers have reported cars speeding by close to crews in the road, drivers hurling abuse about delays caused by the works and even being threatened with weapons.

Crews are trained to handle this sort of aggressive behaviour from members of the public, but it is not acceptable for front facing workers doing their job to be treated in this way.
