DfE Report: School Pupil Exclusions Down But Top 3,000 in East Yorkshire

The latest statistical release from the Department for Education (DfE) on exclusions from schools in England shows a general downward trend in permanent and fixed period exclusions, plus fewer pupils being excluded. Exclusions for bad behaviour are still running at high levels though, with 1,400 pupils being removed from East Yorkshire schools for physically assaulting a pupil or adult.

Persistent disruption in class is one of the main reasons for schools taking action both in East Yorkshire and nationally.
