Effectiveness of Training Not Affected by Budget Cuts

Reporting on results of the 2012 XpertHR L&D Budgets Survey, Personnel Today has identified that cuts to Learning and Development budgets have not necessarily lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of training.

Greater involvement of line managers and a more analytical approach to the application of learning and development were sited as two possible reasons for the better results, enjoyed by some organisations.

A move to less formal training methods, such as mentoring, work shadowing and social networking was also observed as methods to reduce costs.
