Mental Health Nurses in Fear of Assaults

The New Zealand Herald picks up on an article in the Kai Tiaki Nursing New Zealand magazine that claims mental health nurses are speaking out against brutal violence inflicted by their patients. There have been reports of nurses being punched, kicked, burnt, stabbed and choked.

Between 2010 and 2012 the number of assaults more than doubled from 1140 to 2314.
