New Government Guide to Minimise the Use of Restrictive Practices in Social Care and Health

A new guide to reducing the use of restrictive practices in social care and health settings has been published. Developed with the input of employers and commissioners, learning providers and interested parties in the health and care sectors, the guide is part of a two-year programme at the Department for Health to promote positive and safe behaviours.

Reducing Restrictive Practices

The guide, ‘A positive and proactive workforce - A guide to workforce development for commissioners and employers seeking to minimise the use of restrictive practices in social care and health’, is intended to provide support and empower workers to consider alternatives to restrictive practices.

A copy of the guidance can be downloaded from the Skills for Care website.
