Parking Enforcement Officers Facing High Levels of Abuse 

Irate motorists in Inverclyde are taking out their frustration on parking attendants both in person and on social media.

New parking arrangements appear to be the trigger for an increase in verbal abuse and violence.

The level of abuse averaged eight incidents per officer in the past year and worried council bosses are now so concerned about the scale of attacks on enforcement officers they are introducing a ‘lone working smartphone app’.
