Primary School Staff Vulnerable to Verbal Abuse

A YouGov survey for TES of almost 800 teachers has revealed that they believe the behaviour of parents towards teachers has got worse over the past five years.

Seventy-three per cent of those taking part in the survey thought parent behaviour had deteriorated with twenty-five per cent saying it had not changed and two per cent responding that it had improved.

Primary teachers are particularly at risk as parents regularly attend the school to pick up their children. However, online abuse and bullying is also increasing.
