IOSH - A good health and safety record safeguards staff and the reputation of a company and its productivity.

An article from Aviva Risk Management Solutions reports that the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), states that training staff in health and safety should be a top priority for all firms.

In the piece Jane White, research and information services manager at IOSH, backs up the statement, referring to research carried out by IOSH which has found that businesses where health and safety training is of a high standard can lower their accident rates by a third.

She also mentions that productivity can suffer while accidents are being dealt with and the fallout being addressed and points out the importance of a 'clean bill of health and safety' to company reputation.

The importance of every member of staff understanding health and safety practices and the need for messages to travel through the company was highlighted.
