Proven experience and expertise
Maybo training helps carers of people who have an acquired brain injury with positive approaches to behaviours of concern based on understanding and meeting needs. Neuro-disability refers to the deficits or impairments an individual can experience when they have been affected by a brain injury. It can begin during the development process such as Foetal Alcohol Syndrome (FASD) or following a traumatic brain injury (ABI).
We have developed safer working practices for common tasks in ABI services that reduce arousal, improve communications and keep staff safe. This can extend to clinical holding where necessary.
We provide staff with primary and secondary strategies to prevent and defuse behaviours that challenge, this helps staff to:
- Better understand a person’s physiological and emotional needs
- Improve their environment
- Engage them in ways that reduce behaviours of concern
- Reduce the need for restrictive practices
Our physical skills are gentle and low arousal, yet robust and safe for use with adults and children when required as a last resort.
We are the preferred training provider for some of the largest care providers across the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
