Schools lie at the heart of nearly every community, yet significant numbers of teachers experience verbal abuse, threats or even physical assault. Our award-winning training aims to support the prevention and management of workplace conflict and violent behaviours, so that staff, pupils and parents can benefit from positive and safer learning environments.
Schools can become extremely high pressured, stressful environments, which can cause pupils, parents or even staff to act in an irrational manner.
If poorly managed, these minor incidents can quickly escalate into aggressive and challenging behaviour, which can represent a safety risk to staff and pupils, as well as potentially damaging the reputation of your school.
Our comprehensive training aims to ensure that your organisation has effective policies and controls in place to safeguard your staff.
We believe that most conflict can be avoided or defused through positive communication skills. Alongside these proactive strategies to reduce conflict and risk, we also teach reactive strategies to safely manage and de-escalate emotive and difficult situations that arise for staff whose role carries heightened safety risks and responsibilities.
Our training also includes how best to support children with additional needs.
Our program is aligned to support Positive Behavioural Interventions and Supports (PBIS) approaches and the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. Alongside proactive strategies to meet needs through a human rights approach, our de-escalation strategies help colleagues safely manage challenging situations that arise, with the aim of reducing the need for restrictive practices. In Australia, our training aligns to the values and expectations of NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Framework. In Aotearoa New Zealand, our training aligns to the Enabling Good Lives Principles. In the UK, we were amongst the first organisations to achieve Certification from the BILD Association of Certified Training.

Maybo's eLearning programmes utilise the latest learning technologies, realistic scenarios and interactive exercises to offer an engaging self-study learning experience.
eLearning can play a valuable role within a blended learning strategy, underpinning the knowledge and reducing staff abstraction time, or in some instances as a complete solution. It also works well for induction and refresher training.
